Grandparent's Day in Room 31

On Friday, it was Grandparent's Day.  Firstly, we welcomed our grandparents to Room 31.  Brooke and Brodie told what was going to happen in Room 31.  Then, the Year 4 Singing Group sang to the Grandparents.  A few of the children share some of their funny poems.  Everyone in Room 31 were pleased to meet the grandparents.

Then, we did some bowl art which was planned to do with the grandparents.  The bowl art was inspired by a South African hand-painted bowl that one of the students brought. On the inside of the bowl, there is a wild animal such as zebras, giraffes and lions.  On the outside, there is a border that you could choose from .  Lots of people finished their bowl arts quickly so they could show their grandparents around the school.

After lunch, we did an assembly for the grandparents.  In assembly, we talked about how much grandparents mean to children.  We had great fun on this annual day.

My Greatest Feat

Written by:  Brodie, Crystal, Leah
Room 31 is doing a programme called, "My Greatest Feat" because we want to stay active, strong and stay fit.  We also wanted to enter this programme because we wanted to escort the All Whites to their historic FIFA World Cup kick off match.

You can find the website on www.mygreatestfeat.org  You can enter steps daily if you register on the website.  It is free to sign up.  Also, you can buy a pedometer for two dollars at McDonalds or get it for free when you register.  We got ours for free because we registered as a class.  Walking is fun when you enter 'My Greatest Feat' because you get expensive prizes if you win.  The players from the All Whites will also appreciate the walking for them.

The prizes you can get are:  return flight to South Africa, Airport Transfers and all ground transportation, accomodation, meals and travel insurance and lots more.

Room 31 Answers Fizzing Four

We have created a video to answer some questions asked by the Fizzing Four, who also have a beautiful blog like us.  We are excited to have them as our blog buddy.  In the video, we've also included some photos to show them a little bit of our school.  Enjoy!
